46.96 Kb Sideways facing lamp, Panther, Birmingham. Has a large (3cm dia.) Red reflector in the rear of the lamp head. This is a fairly rare 'Panther Duplex' bicycle lamp by Powell and Hanmer and was designed to fit on the side of the front forks of a bicycle, clear glass to the front and red glass to the rear. Mid 1920's.

46 Kb This lamp is almost identical to the USA Solar Lamp in the previous photos but the red and green reflectors are reversed. Probably because they drive/ride on the other side of the road in Belguim. It is called a "Belgia" made by "W B" (see second photo below).

23 Kb This is a the Dictator lamp which is a Powell and Hammer,Birmingham, England product. Photo by Steve Loftin. This lamp is interesting for one good reason. Although the basic design is Joseph Lucas the lamp was manufactured by the Powell and Hanmer concern, after they had been taken over by Lucas in 1929. The lamp dates from after 1932 if my memory serves.
